Upma made from leftover idlis for 4 Adult(s)
Ingredients
Black gram(Uzhunnu/Urad dal) - 1 cup
Idli rava - 3 cups
Salt - As reqd
Onion - 2 nos
Green chillies - 5 - 6 nos
Curry leaves - A few
Oil - A few
Sugar - 1 spoon
Lemon - 1/2 of one
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Asafoetida(Kayam) - A pinch
Preparation Method
1)Soak black gram for 1 hour and grind it.
2)Mix 3 times idli rava and keep the batter for 8 hrs.
3)Prepare idli from that rava.
4)When idli becomes cold, smash it and make it as normal mixture.
5)Heat oil in a pan or a kadai.
6)Splutter mustard seeds.
7)Add a pinch of asafoetida, curry leaves and green chillies.
8)Add chopped onion and fry till they turn golder brown in color.
9)Add idli mixture, salt, lemon juice and a bit of sugar.
10)Mix it properly and keep it for3 - 4 mins to cook.
